Discover Bráv

Before it became Bráv, it was initially a 27-hectare farm, purchased by a primary school teacher who bravely pursued, despite his low income, a better life for his family.

His family, indeed, decided, 60 years ago, that it would no longer be an agricultural farm anymore, but a regenerated wooded area. As a result, Mother Nature took over and has almost healed all of its wounds.

Tall trees with multi-coloured leaves have taken up the space. Birds are nesting there again, and so, Bráv, was reborn like the Phoenix to become an exclusive residential area.

In Bráv, you will be able to regain your energy and motivation, and enjoy true silence while creating ideas, working, meditating or resting in the privacy of your own home.

You will live in a place where others only dream to holiday!

The values of Bráv’s residential community are

Stability and harmony

Privacy and safety

What is the meaning of Bráv?

The word bráv, comes from the indigenous language spoken by the Boruca People—who have historically lived in the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.    Bráv means to take care, protect, maintain, preserve…

We particularly chose this name because, with Bráv, we are seeking to preserve the unique biodiversity of the South Pacific; take care of natural resources; and maintain the natural bond between Mother Earth and human beings by offering you the ideal environment to live in harmony.

Furthermore, Bráv’s logo is presided by a Borucan mask showing a jaguar, a great feline that lives in all coastal national parks of our country.

For some ancient Mesoamerican cultures (Mexico and Central America) the jaguar is some sort of deity that protects the Earth and has the capacity to adopt different forms.

Indeed, for Borucan people, the shaman and the jaguar or warrior were a single entity.    Likewise, olmecans’ (1200 a 400 BCE.) gods were represented as half-jaguar and half- human.

It is a sacred animal that represents power, majesty, life, fertility agility and cleverness.  Hence, we think the jaguar is spiritual guardian of  Bráv.

Inspired on a real Borucan mask, our  jaguar, has a sun on its forehead to honour the ancient indigenous people that worshiped the Sun God and observed solar calendars to plant their crops.

Finally, we have come along with the single-triangle jaguar, which represents femininity and Mother Earth.
